Getting BRZ/ FRS below MSRP
hello, I'm still hunting for BRZ/ FRS. Color preference white.
Should I wait for 2014 model? Do you guys know where I could get one below msrp? Thanks. I'm in LA area. |

Your best bet is prolly gonna be travel or ship an out of state car. From what I've seen, CA has the highest mark-ups of any other state on these cars.

yeah I just checked the thread. That's pretty sux. I thought subaru irvine was offering pretty good price. No?
I'm looking to pay below msrp if that is possible. It looks like no. Should I really wait for another year? or go with FRS route? |

The longer you wait the longer your wait time to see a car is going to be. In other words the average wait is increasing as more and more orders are placed.
This isn't the time or the car to "wait" for the price to get better. If you want it, your gonna have to pay to play. The cheapest cars that I have seen are in the central states and the north east/new england states. |

Check Cars.com for all of the cars in the country then call those dealerships. I live in LA and found the exact car I wanted in Madison, WI. Even with shipping, my total cost was still cheaper than what the local dealers were going to charge with markups.
Separately, just to manage your expectations, getting the car at or slightly under MSRP is about the best you're gonna do -- this isn't a buyer's car, this is a seller's car. There is simply too much demand to push around a dealer. This car is the fastest selling car in America right now (measured by time on the lot). Being willing and/or able to pay cash obviously helps in the negotiations. The wait-list is 9 months long at some places. My local dealer wouldn't even take a deposit on a car anymore -- they just said they'd call me if one came up. I started looking out of state two months ago, now my car is being delivered Sunday. Good luck!!

You can get plenty of cars at msrp right now if you just keep looking. My dealership didnt mark my frs up.. for scion its not possible to get it below because they dont allow haggling which i think is a scam. but msrp is still a desirable price since there are a lot of dealers marking them up.
By the time the 2014 comes out Im sure itll be easier to find a used one and theres definitely going to be a price drop in the 2013 models. unless subaru stops production of the 2013 models. but anyways, there are definitely dealers that dont mark up. |

I think FRS will be much easier to find at MSRP than a BRZ due to the production ratio. But yeah for a BRZ you may have to look out of state. I just checked Heuberger, the dealer in Colorado where I bought mine, they have 2 white BRZs either in transit or available. They're both autos one premium one limited. Not sure what other options or how far they're willing to come down on price, but I paid less than MSRP for mine, enough to offset the price of shipping the car to me.
http://www.heubergermotors.com/new-i...ventoryListing if you contact them ask for Karen and tell her Plato sent you. Not sure if that will get you any special treatment but she was super nice and helpful, took care of all of my special requests (no front plate drill, no test drives, premium gas).

Buying the FRS at msrp is really the only option when it comes to Scions. Although watch out for dealer add ons.

The Subaru dealers around me make it sound like it is such a great deal since their markup is *only* $2500. I have a deposit down at a Scion dealer @ MSRP for a FRS AT but still on the fence about the transmission. It is coming next week supposedly

I purchased my BRZ for $800 under MSRP from Flatiron Subaru in Colorado. Super easy purchase and cost me $650 and 3 days to ship back to Cali. Go that route instead of playing stupid dealer's mark up games.

More than one member here bought their cars from CO under MSRP and it is as easy as order from amazon. (OK...almost). I just wish more people can read about all these info we collected here and then source the car out of state and stop paying extra. Meanwhile, the mark-up crazy is still on going...and those cars will belong to some rich kids, not doing their homework, did not now better, just walk in, pay $$$ and drive away.
