3 people is this thread actually answered the question. The rest felt they needed to feel superior by implying I do not know what max means. If it makes you all feel better about yourselves more power to you. Its just sad. Tcoat, Dowroa and Twinz thanks for the real advice.

On stock tires, 35 psi cold increases to 38psi hot with normal street driving by my observation. Ideally a different tire of the same size would be at 38 hot as well (again, street use only, and doesn't account for differences in structure). However, you actually have a wider tire than stock, so I would think it would be better to run a slightly lower hot tire pressure to maintain the appropriate contact patch.

Something else to keep in mind, lower pressures heat the rubber up more. Hotter rubber usually means more grip and more wear.
They are not stock tires and rims. Did you miss this?

It's the internet though. I think you are taking it way too personal lol, no one is assuming your gender so chill.

Please read the whole post you quoted. I said you had wider tires than stock. I then stated that meant I would want to run a slightly lower tire pressure than stock if in the same situation.

I'm asking because there was perhaps something else I am missing as to why somebody might increase tire pressure. Either you had a good reason or didn't. Usually I ask questions assuming the former. Your responses thus far have indicated the latter.

Check for wear on the center of the tire, this happens with over inflation.

Tire pressures are determined by vehicle weight. Width or height shouldn't have any determination of the tire pressure.

You can cure most handling issues with tire pressure. Front and rear can be different if necessary

Get the car aligned if you still feel the car is loose after changing the tire pressure. Get some toe-in the rear.

In short, start with the OEM tire pressures.

Are you still running the stock dampers and springs? Stock rear sway?

The tires that you selected:

Has reviews like...

Ok dry traction and overall driving comfort. Wet traction very bad. Back end slides out easily in wet corners. Will try something different in the future.
I personally don't have experience with this tire and I personally find 400TW tires to be pretty bad in grip (especially in cold weather). Granted, the 200TW tires I run are equally bad in the cold and don't operate well under 40*F.

Since that is a UHP Summer and I put you in as living in Sebring, FL, they should be working well now in the dry (70*F).

Any other inputs you can give us?

Else, we can all supply to you other tires to look at.

Still, start with COLD pressures on the door and re-attmempt.

Let us know the environment variables and conditions where it is not performing well.

In short, they could just be crap tires.

I can state they would not be my first choice living in FL or even living here in NC.

Let us know if there is more we can help with, but give us specifics.

The devil is always in the details.

Thanks.

40 degrees.
In Florida where that is very unusual.
Even at proper inflation on the best of tires they are going to feel very strange to him.

Set them to 33-35 all around and move on with life. Also get different tires next time because those are junk, imo.

I had those same tires on one of my Lancers. Hated them. Even for all seasons they somehow managed to be way too soft in the summer and too hard in the winter. The good part was they wore out really, really fast.
