Just calling and asking about what to do can wind up costing you as well, so be sure of what you want to do before calling your insurance co.

Sadly every body shop is booked out so I'll have to wait a few days for a quote. However I'm estimating the damage to be under $1.5k (I hope)... a door is roughly $500-600 (if they decide to replace it) and the other side should hopefully be a few hundred. I want to avoid claiming it as much as possible because they'll make me know about it in the future.

Ugh. It hurts so much looking at it now, especially since I've always maintained and waxed the car like every week. The worst always happens to something you look after too much

that is not going to be under 1500 to fix, it definitely needs a door and the quarter panel is pretty ugly. With the white being 3 stage the paint is going to be more expensive than a regular color. with all that being said you may have forgiveness and it may be under the threshold where you'll see a rate increase since your car is the only one damaged.

This is why I don't bother keeping my car pristine. It's a cheap, easily replaced car, so what's the point?

Big difference between keeping it pristine and driving around with 1/4 of the side wiped off the car!

Ok, I'll clarify, since I don't invest time into obsessing over the paint's condition, I'm less hurt when the paint gets damaged.

Me neither but even I have my limits. My front bumper, hood and fenders look like an IED went off in front of my car and it is starting to annoy even me.

Need to get me one of these.

Definitely, pay out of pocket. The insurance route will cost you more in the long run. Best of luck.

Highway driving, especially in the winter months will definitely do a number on your paint job. I think I'm just going to buy a tank.

Make for long trips between London and Windsor twice a week. And even then the paint would chip.

Yea, but paint chips on a tank are considered character...

You should be able to drive up to any body shop and ask for a quote. They might be booked up as far as doing the work, but giving a quote shouldn't be an issue. Most shops use software to price out the parts and labor.

You might be confusing AUD with USD. But yeah the paint process would cost a lot more. Kinda wish I got my 86 in red

True. I just need to find time as I've got class in the early morning and I finish late
