Here is what I did to the oil cooler today, welding courtesy of guy across the street, tomorrow I mess with ducts and fans and the like, paint it and post pics of it finished
Gem,
Have you seen this? I don't know if it would clear your intercooler, but maybe you could rig the oil cooler like this:

Anyone able to offer reproduce this? Grabbing a relocator if results are this drastic!

Keep in mind, that is at the track. For daily driving having the airflow blocked a bit helps with the oil being too cool as well as keeps rocks/bugs/etc from damaging the fins. Even so, I just upgraded from the 80C thermostat to the 95C thermostat. Now I sit in the 90C - 95C range during daily driving. Barely sitting at 80C was a little cool for my liking.

Awesome, definitely taking it off next time at the track. Thanks for the tip!

Obviously, if I was to do serious tracking / longer track laps, an oil cooler would be needed.
I know this is an old post, but I'm still debating on whether or not getting an oil cooler. I just recently started keeping an eye on my oil temp on my avo 250hp FRS. I live in Texas and it's my DD. every now and then I do about 3-5 hard pulls on the freeway. I rarely do it because I don't want to be "that guy" who does it every day. Are you still running yours w/o an oil cooler?

Don't debate about it.. log your temps and make a decision based on your findings from monitoring your specific system operating under your specific driving character & environment. It depends on how much margin of safety you would like to run, but typically if you're consistently seeing past 250F+ on D/D, it's time to run a cooler. Others will have their own take on at what point a cooler will be a necessity
