PSA 2017 BRZ Owners: Axle-back exhausts for previous model years will NOT fit!

The Nameless Performance exhaust I ordered arrived yesterday and when I went to install it today, I noticed the flange seemed much smaller than the one on the car. Turns out the holes on the 2017 are about an inch further apart making installation impossible without welding on a larger flange.

Nameless didn't seem to be aware of the issue because when I contacted them before ordering I specifically mentioned I had a 2017 and they didn't say anything about it. I left them a message and am awaiting a response.

The WORKS AB also appears to not fit MY17.

What a disappointment.....

Did you order the 2.5" or 3" inlet size ... ??

Or would that make any difference .. ??

So, I recommend you take it up to a muffler/auto shop and have them install it (they will figure it out) then .......

Since @Tcoat led you astray ...... I suggest you send him the bill from the muffler shop .......

So because somebody didn't read the whole thread and the follow ups after I had been corrected based upon new information it was my fault?

2.5" inlet, but I don't think that would make a difference. I'm going to wait for Nameless to contact me and see what they suggest before doing anything. I'm certainly not paying to have a muffler shop fix it so I doubt I'll be going that route unless it's on Nameless' dime.

I wasn't trying to say anything is your fault. I pointed out your post because if you google anything about a 2017 BRZ exhaust (like I did after finding out the flange was the wrong size), your post comes up and is very misleading to people searching the web. You may want to edit it with a correction.

Ugh , I just ordered a Borla 11839 axleback exhaust on Black Friday for the discounts. It should be here tomorrow, but I'm going on a business trip, so I'll have to see after I get back. Very disappointing to hear it might not fit my 2017 BRZ.

LOL ya it was Hum that implied it was not you! That whole exhaust thing is a bit baffling since the part numbers remain the same and most manufactures do indeed claim they fit when obviously they don't. I will indeed edit but there are several threads on the subject and many people that said the same thing so it may be tough to change everything.

Update: Nameless has emailed me a return label and I'm sending the exhaust back to have the flange replaced.

Confirming that the Borla 11839 axle back does not fit, same issue, different size flange. Moddiction sent me a return label, exhaust was returned a few days ago, still waiting for refund.

Can someone confirm aftermarket catback exhausts for MY2013-2016 would fit? CSG Mike says his fit, can anyone else confirm?

Update: Nameless is having trouble locating a '17 BRZ locally to test fit a new flange on and so are instead refunding my order. Seems it'll be awhile before they have a compatible exhaust for MY17 cars.
