I have actually told people about these before.

Seeing it in action though gives me second thoughts since I would probably forget to bring it up and it would be gone at the first speed bump, dead racoon or snowdrift I came upon at speed.

I've had the car 5 days. This was my first post. Thanks for being a bunch of asshats. I live in VA where you gotta have a front plate. It's ugly as shit. Hiding it somtimes would be nice.

Nice.. and illegal ... and a cop magnet ... other than that, it's a great idea.

If you travel to a state where it IS legal to only have a back plate, a screwdriver and 40 seconds are your friend.

If it's the location you don't like, there are relocation kits to move the front plate over to the tow hook receiver.

And now, I must replace my posterior fedora.

Welcome.

TN doesn't have the law requiring the front plate but I know if we did I'd be going for one of the tow hook mount... It may still look somewhat goofy but better than the factory options, and seemingly easy to remove. I know that doesn't answer your question for the motorized option; however, I think it would be more economical for more "fun" mods.

Thanks guys, I do like the tow hook option. I just thought it would be cool to hide it when it's parked. But, what I really want is to not live in VA.

Autoloc makes some, lots of minitruckers have used them.

It's popular with street rodders too:

This one in the grill area would be slick:

Trust me, dude... do NOT come to NY. We make Virginia look like a freedom-lover's paradise.

Remember, you can't spell "Nanny" without "NY"... sigh.

You could always go with a magnetic mount. I did, and it works quite well. This DIY option is for a BRZ, but you might be able to figure out a similar solution for the FRS bumper.
