Will this work on the BRZ?

Will the built in usb still work?

And does it have built in navigation that doesn't require wifi or internet connectivity?

Thanks!

That said - a tablet install IS cool as hell when done right, and is great for the person that likes that sort of stuff. This is great for the person that likes a drop in easy to install stereo - that has all of the same (and arguably more) features.

I did read through your post a bit quick, so i apologize if i missed part of the message. No harm meant by it! Like i said before, I dont mean to bash those that want to go that route!
For perspective:

I currently have a tablet install, and it was almost as expensive as this head unit, and I keep having these nagging, lingering problems with it. That coupled with the fact that I will have to remove the tablet from my car every day during the summer so the battery doesn't stop working/catch on fire/explode is making me want to get this. The tablet is a super clean look, but it's getting to the point where I want something that has similar functionality, but just works, and also won't explode.

Yep. With the instructions I mention in the first post.

Yes the USB will work as will the aux in. But both require additional adapter harnesses sold by metra....just like any other stereo install.

It doesn't come with any navigation app but it is Android a d has the app store. Download any that you like. I believe sygic is free and doesn't require data. Otherwise TomTom is great and doesn't need data.

i opted for the cellular modem and BT OBD reader when i ordered. mainly because if at a later point i decided i wanted to add either shipping would be another $59. Hopefully I can get it to tether reliably on my iPhone though so I won't need the modem.
You won't be disappointed at all. Pm me if you have any problems at all

Make sure you order a antenna adapter, USB port adapter and aux input adapter like you would for any other stereo install. Shouldn't be but 30 bucks I think.

I've got an antenna and usb port adapter already from my current install. Aux input i'm not really worried about.

Is the modem unlocked? or does it need to connect to a particular GSM/CDMA network?
