Who the hell bought a 2000GT for a million?
There are very special version/concours level ones selling for almost half that. Still not cheap but not a million either. https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/a...-2000gt/566020 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-toyota-2000-gt/

Half the people around my area think Scion is some exotic or a special version of Porsche but at least I laugh and correct them when they say something that dumb.

I struggle with re-shelled mk 1 mini Coopers. Minis rot, when it becomes uneconomical to restore we get re-shelling.. new shells are manufactured by the British Motor Heritage, a legitimate business. The question is whether a re-shelled car using the original VIN is still the original car?? The same applies to MGBs and the old Lotus Elans using a new chassis..

I consider the kit route a different thing all together though. More like building a hot rod, if done right.

I don't look at it that way, as I said, more like building a hot rod. Of course, I wouldn't label it Ferrari either.
