My absence, and a shoutout to member DadHawk
tl;dr
First off, I love you guys. I didnt disappear because I began to think the twins are some kind of jabroni car. The whole reason behind my absence became my job and the justification of the money spent. One of@Dadhawk's post's he posted about buying a new car and car payments and why its unreasonable etc. I began to think, I had just put a $500 deposit down for my BRZ. I couldnt justify the cost I have a corolla now thats completely paid off, 09 and in great condition with only 57k miles. I just couldnt do it after watching that video my reasoning came down to just because I have the money to do it now, doesnt mean I should go ahead and buy the car for that notoriety and temporary personal satisfaction. Yeah the car is great but honestly i have fun in the car I have now as crazy as it sounds. I practice my lines on the highway and make the car go when I want to. With all those thoughts, I decided to take a break from the forums and think about what I really want, and honestly I dont even know what it is now. After about a month or 2 I decided to buy a bike for the new platform and experience. Its cheaper and I keep the car I have now, couldnt justify 2 cars at age 21 living in an apartment.. I dont need it. After that I decided to come back to the forums recently just to reminisce about the car because of now Ive decided this is my dream car, yeah I can buy it right now. But I want to be able to buy 3 cash and not be worried. With that being said, Im keeping it humble, living my life. Above that stupid "ooooh look what i got mentality". I also want to thank @Dadhawk for helping me be more confident in my job, since his advice ive been promoted and now have the title of a tier 2 IT engineer. You guys are amazing, love ya'll and your passion. I will own a twin someday, and when I do. No one will breathe on it, talk near it, lean on it, or touch it. Because it'll be my baby. Keeping it real. |

I'm glad you've figured things out and congrats with the promotion!
The twins are just hype for now because they just started rolling off the assembly line in recognition of the AE86. Later down the road as they bring more of these cars in, people will start getting use to seeing them. (Hate to say it, but it's inevitable) Just think of it this way; if you don't get one now, you dodge the "first year model" bug & glitches... and who knows, maybe you will someday get the STi/TRD (Supercharger/Turbo) version instead...! Live your life without the headache, stress, and regret for now as you still have a functional car with plentiful of passenger space and reliability! Priorities first! Cheers! :happy0180:

EXHAUST KNOWS
Always good to hear someone still has their priorities in check. Especially when some people on here, even me, forget to.

@Exhaust, great to have you back, and I appreciate the shout out. It's good to know that some random dude (me) on the Internet can help someone make the right decision for their situation.
Continued good luck to you, and don't be a stranger!

Welcome back Exhaust. Congrats on your promotion boyeee! Don't worry you're not the only one holding out on a BRZ. Better to get your life in order first before consuming materialistic items.
