Losail
On-board footage highlights:
First clip: Chasing down a QTCC prepped Honda CRX Second clip: Trying to catch up with a GT86 + AVO turbo kit Third clip: Having fun with an almost balanced car. Last 3 fast corners supersized me with uncontrolled understeer. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnHPE2Ibuis"]TMG GT86 On-board Highlights from Losail Trackday [/ame] Not the cleanest lap but definitely the fastest lap. Personal best running the R888R tiers. Finally getting the balance back, however still suffering from push understeer in fast corners. Car has more in it but needs more practice and more suspension and engine tuning. Had to slow down because of the traffic at the end of video. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj-RwcgDDrg"]2:25.9 at Losail International Circuit[/ame] |

Track: Texas World Speedway 2.9 mile configuration
Lap time: 1:59.1 Car: 2013 FR-S Mods: stock shocks, Whiteline sways and top hats and rear subframe brace, catback 2.5, 225# springs, Motegi 17x7.5 PZero 225/45-17, Stoptech pads/steel lines/Motul Notes/Comments: I have lots of track experience and am a coach/instructor. This FR-S is one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever driven. I had it on track (Hallett) the same day I got to drive a new Z28 and a 911 Turbo S in anger. If you'd have said 'you get one more session, pick a set of keys' I'd have taken the FR-S back out. No lie. That's how well-balanced this car is. In case you ever forget what a great little car you have... Sub 2 minute laps in low HP cars are very, very rare at TWS. My E92 M3 was only .2 seconds quicker on my best lap and it was 27 MPH faster on the front straight. Enjoy! Track: Motorsport Ranch - Cresson 1.7m CCW
Lap time: 1:23.477 Car: 2013 FR-S Mods: Koni shocks, perrin sways, raceseng top hats, Swift Spec R springs, SPL rear parts, AP Racing Endurance kit w/ XP12 pads, 255/40/17 NT01s, Tomie EL and full exhaust, E85 flex fuel (204whp on E68 on mustang dyno), Moto-East surge tank, GSpeed rollbar, random upgraded bushings throughout, velox splitter/diffuser Notes/Comments: This was the first time I was able to drive the track this configuration since adding power to the car and I was very happy. I am still leaving over a second on the table according to my theoretical for the day as I learn how to use the power, but I am still really happy with it considering the theoretical would have put me on the podium in the last NASA event in either TTB or TT3, and it is definitely not set up properly for those classes. Ignore the loose wires on the right, didn't see them until after I was strapped in and on the grid.

Thanks for sharing that, Jonsey. I love it! Nice driving, too. Being on the podium on TTB or TT3 in a car built to those specs is really good.
In what TT class is your car? TTC? What has been your approach to building it? Did you have a class in mind or just start adding parts that you wanted to add? |

The car was not built at all for TT and was just a HPDE track toy that I modded as I went, so it has a lot of things that add points without much effect. I added it up and it would just be pushed into TTB in current form, but should really be a TTC car. I am going to try and set it up for TT4 this year, although it will likely be a above the P/W ratio so will not be as fast as theoretically possible.

QTCC Race
On-board footage for QTCC round 2 race 1
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM5vVSNrlck"] QTCC round 2 race 1 [/ame] Car is spinning the inside wheel in EVERY single corner. It was really difficult to get away from my competitor with such a bad corner exits. Goes to show how important the LSD can be on track. |
