Seriously wouldnt trade this car for really anything. Its about to hit 155k miles and still running strong. I am due for front brakes currently so there are a few noises and whistles (car is 17 years old). Got backed into last night so putting in an insurance claim in as we speak. I do a lot of freeway driving so I get about 33-35 mpg. Other than the car not being nice (paints going a little bit/ radio only things of that natural) this car is just flat making me money. [ all my power windows work and a/c runs like a champ]

A lil math on what I spend on my car:

$75 a month for insurance

$150 a month for gas (thats a round trip to work 6-7 days a week @ 50 miles round trip

You said it SOLD??

I turned a Subaru dealer down locally when they offered a $3,500 premium... And then the salesman offered $1,000 over... But that still wasn't acceptable to me.

Instead, MSRP on the $25k FR-S and a very fair trade-in value for my MX-5 sealed the deal for me.

I took a picture over at a dealer in Jacksonville, FL while I was there on business. The markup at 3 different dealers was as follows:

Kieth Pierson Toyota - $5,000
Coggin Toyota - $4000-$5000
Ernie Palmer Toyota - $7000

I wrote about the price gouging on a blog post as well but you can see the picture below. Apparently the Scion had an "appearance package" on it but honestly, I didn't see anything different. Could be another way of adding on some extra cost.

The one I have above is around $36,880 with everything. Its MSRP is quite a bit higher too probably because of the protective shield inside and out as well.

Some Chrysler dealers did the same crap when the PT Cruiser first came out in 2001. Some Ford dealers did the same crap when the new Mustang came out in 2005.

A year or less later, their lots were full of these cars and they had to pay for advertising to let everyone know they are discounted and ready to move.
The same thing will happen with the FR-S/BRZ.

Some dealerships are run by total scumbags, others are only run by regular scumbags. Check out www.autotrader.com to find out who has what and who charges what.
DO NOT give into temptation and pay over sticker. If you want the car that bad, pay me a $5,000 finder's fee and I'll get you one.

I know for a fact that the dealership near me has already sold 2 or 3 of these cars because I check their inventory online often and I've seen a few that were listed and gone and now they've got 4 automatics listed on their website, all roughly MSRP. They're a couple hundred off here and there for things like bumper applique and carpeted trunk mat, but none of them are or were adjusted for market value.
