@2forme - Are you still using the unit in the beginning of this thread, or have you switched again?
I am running the capacitive knockoff in my BRZ and the resistive knockoff in my other car. Both are rooted.

Capacitive knockoff? I thought you said in your Adayo vs Ca-Fi thread that it was in fact a resistive knockoff - that it was false advertising?

I don't think resistive is going to be deal-breaker for me. As long as I have a decent nav application, a semi-audiophile EQ, can play music from a usb drive or SD card, and can answer called, I'm happy. Way happier than spending $1k for something that does some of what I want.

The link at the beginning of this thread still works, so I'll try to snag one tonight.

Yup, and it was. Then I found one that was indeed capacitive

The guy in the reviews is confused. They have one that looks identical but is a dual boot system with a different interface.

Sounds good. Are you completely happy with it? How much of a PITA is it to get rid of any bloatware?

I found another one: http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxweb...duct/1274.html

It looks to be about the same specifications. I like the button setup better on that one.

I actually wanted to try that one. It's the same unit with a different front. The rooting solution I posted actually removes all the bloatware for you haha.

You should get that, and let me know how it performs. I like not having to use a dash kit and the possibility that the LEDs match the interior. Also let me know if it is indeed capacitive

It's $30 difference - so nothing worth crying over, unless it doesn't work, haha. I have two cars to test with, the FRS and a 2013 TC. I'm sure I can convince the girlfriend that she needs to have an Android HU to be one of the cool kids.

I'm reading up on XDA Developers too and really starting to wonder why someone hasn't just created a 4.0 ROM for these yet.

No, I just didn't see the Toyota one until after I had ordered the capacitive one. There's nothing wrong with it, so I won't return it.

The only review on tradesolution's website says that the UI is completly different than what's shown. Is that ?

Edit: Nvm, just realised his complaint is about the TUN22A and not the TUN21A (mentions something about Wince and since it's only Gingerbread... well u know)
