Scion FRS: Love the front bumper... but I also hate it.

Just spent a good 45 minutes cleaning the front end of my car of bugs and grass clippings (dat landlord).

I can't help but wonder if the BRZ's are a little less labour intensive.

I'm starting to hate it. The paint is starting to crack on me again, same spot on other side.
I wonder if a clear bra would of stopped this. Perhaps a flux of temperatures from the bottom of the bumper that is scrapped or from the numerous rock chips...odd.

Xpel film on the front will eliminate chances of rock chips, paint flaking etc. As far as scrubbing etc well if you apply a good coating like ExoV2 or a quality carnauba wax the bugs will literally fall off. Takes me literally a minute to clean front end.

it's the xpel film that makes it so hard to clean for me. Stuff just gets lodged right in it. lol.

What's this about paint cracking????

Then put something on it. IE: ExoV2, quality wax etc, seriously I haven't had to make effort of cleaning since can last recall.

Tip: Good soap or if at car was for example spray pre soak or tire cleaner on front end and all bug covered areas, allow to sit for 3-5 mins then spray...bugs come off no scrubbing easy peazy....

Folks that don't have their front with Xpel,3M etc have complained about chips, paint cracking etc... First thing I do with any new vehicle is have whole front end covered in a protectant film.

Those who are complaining should have to live here in North Florida where we have "Love Bug" season twice a year. At the height of the season they can turn your car black after 20 miles of driving. These bugs are so acidic that if you do not wash them off most every day they eat through your clear coat and then color coat in a matter of days. I no have the 3M invisible shield on mine and it makes it much easier to clean. Just wet them down and let them sit a few minutes. If you have a good wax on it then it they come right off.

Was never a fan of the mesh type grills on any car. I will say however, the mustache on the BRZ does take a lot of space, therefor taking most of the impact from bugs/debris.

I know what you're talking about BobRickel. Driving from Ocala to Gainesville through Paine's Praire is the worst. Haha

Hard to clean or not, that FR-S front bumper is what makes people think it's a more expensive car.
