I think I remember reading on a thread here that the internals can be transplanted into a Lexus proximity fob.

The downside is that a new Lexus fob is some stupid amount of $$

Hell no! I work at a dealer. I'm just going to swap key cases when no one's looking.

True that we don't use the buttons... But feels incomplete missing the panic button hole. Then again, why do I care since the fob buttons have been used maybe 3 times in the year I've had it.

The choices... Hmm..

Did you have to go through the dealer to reprogram that? Or is there a setting somewhere so you can do it manually?

I had no clue this worked for the trunk...

I know about the driver's door unlocking when touching the handle but did you have to get the dealer to change the setting so it unlocks both doors when you touch one handle?

no... there are further steps. It's in the manual somewhere. I did it months ago. Makes it easier so my wife can get in the other side without my pushing extra buttons....

I'll try to do a quick search for it for you...

Edit:
FOUND IT...
Open the driver door with the car off, hold down the lock and panic buttons on the key fob for 5 seconds. Should beep when u release. Now both doors will unlock when you touch the door handle
