Just search for the last time someone asked this. Or better yet, test drive them.

Ex-Army, ex 101st soldier here. Owned both cars, and it really comes down to what you are looking for. The Gencoupe is a lot of car for the money. It has a nice motor, a smooth ride, and nice interior and amenities for the money. But...

It is heavy and feels it (which accounts for a more comfortable cruising type ride). The seats are not as good as the BRZ/FR-S. The twins feel more like a true sports car, much lighter, much better handling. Much better gearbox in the twins. You sit much lower to the ground in the twins and feel more connected to the car. But you will not be nearly as fast in a straight line.

Honestly you do need to drive them as so much of this is based on what you prefer in a car. There are trade-offs with both cars, but I would recommend the twins if you are looking for more of a true sports car that connects to the driver. Hyundai just has not gotten the gearbox and handling down yet.

My '14 3.8 Gen coupe is a big bruiser compared to the 86. The 86 is a scalpel compared to a hammer. If you have lots of back road twisties and can exploit the handling of the twins, get that. If you have a dreadful daily commute and like to open it up on the highway for weekend getaways using 350HP, the GC makes an AWESOME GT car. Hell, I can start my car using my iphone...

^This^ Twin summed it up perfectly and all the HP, weight, luxury options, track times, etc all boil down to those 4 sentences.
