Question Why do FRS/BRZ owners refer to their cars with colour name?

I've noticed this on forums - and even in real life.

My friend who's a detailer that does a lot of twins noticed this and asked me about it.

Why do you guys often refer to your cars by colour name?
"That's my Asphalt FRS!"

The only time I've ever heard of cars referred to by their colour's name is 911s and old Mopars, like Plum Crazy. In those cases though it's special colours.

So, why?

-Sincerely,
A confused BRZ owner

I didn't mention color for my silver BRZ (um, yeah, what's that color called?) but I mention it for WRB because the color is the first thing everyone comments on (including my detailer, lol).

PRIDE!
And...Unless it is a special edition (which is also usually mentioned) or heavily modded there really is no other way to differentiate between them since they are all the same (no Si, SE, GT,LS, etc.)

GO TEAM HOT LAVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will say "the red FR-S" sometimes, or "the arrest-me-red FR-S." I rarely refer to it as Firestorm.

You mean Ultramarine?????? Same colour as the blue FRS just a different name!

Rarest normal production are Hot Lava as it is only FRS and WRB as it is only BRZ (although it would not seem that rare on here).

Then of course you have your special edition colours that are way rarer then normal production (See R.1 yellow as proof)

It's not just a brz/frs thing, maybe a Subie thing to some extent, because I used to refer to my 02 wrx as a PSM bugeye.

My assumption would be because everyone on here has the same car so the best way to differentiate would be by color?

Wait...what color is my car though?
