Ice Racing the BRZ!

So yeah. I went ice racing this past weekend. It was AWESOME.

Ice racing. On a frozen lake. RACING ON ICE. Because #RACECAR.

The video here is one of my slowest laps, but also one of the most sideways, so it made for a better video, lol.

Arriving at the lake.

Driving off the boat launch ramp onto the lake.

AHHHHH!!!

The beast.

The group.

Lined up at the start.

Lolz.

Stopped on the track. The red car had spun out into the snow. They had a big pickup that would drive around and pluck people out.

Impromptu track shot while the red car gets yanked free.

Please don't crack!!!

That looks like a ridiculous amount of fun. First time I've been jelly of our northern neighbors during this snowy winter!

That's something I've always wanted to do. Don't think I'll get the chance in Alabama - at least not until the next Ice Age

Looks like an absolute blast - thanks for sharing the pics and vid!

I'd be terrified of doing that, but also be enjoying it at the same time.

It was slightly terrifying because although you couldn't really do any major damage to your car, there was always the possibility that you could tear off a lip or perhaps an entire bumper if you spun into the snow quickly enough. Which was why I was apprehensive about just always solving understeer with throttle because the ice was so slick often times you'd still just slide wide, lol.

Please tell me you were on stock Primacy's, and how they worked just fine.

Looks like a blast, but I'd prefer to have earth under my car at all times!
