Ram Air hood?

No, we aren't talking 60's mustang shaker hoods, I was wondering if anybody had considered the feasibility of producing something like the hoods that are pretty popular for trucks: Basically they're functional ram air hoods that direct air right to where an open element filter would be. Pics attached. I was thinking something like the Seibon FA-style hood but with a more useful scoop. Is there any interest in something like this?

I'd be interested. Were you going to be Making it?

RK sport (I think that's who it was) made a fiberglass version. And claimed it directed air flow to the air box, but never said how.

I wish I was...I just want to start a conversation on something like this. I've seen the RK sport being sold but I can't find more than one image of it actually mounted on a customer car and painted which sketches me out. I like the design and that'd be perfect for something like this. Attached is the only good image available of it on a car.

Edit: found the RK Sport thread but there's nothing good past page 1: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13192

Doesn't seem to be any development past this thread

Problem is where the intake is located on our cars; a scoop doesn't get any more air to it. With no top-mounted intercooler, it doesn't serve any cooling function either. The only beneficial hood design for the 86/ BRZ is vented like the upcoming Varis hood, or the Seibon TS hood. Those work in drawing air up from under the car, and blowing hot air out the top of the hood.

Save the scoops for the Subarus with TMIC. If stock is too plane for you get vented. There are several nice looking vented hoods being made.

It do not fit exactly in to the air intake hole, but with a little modification and make longer it will. It fits perfectly in a area with enough space for the filter. Also the ram air will be longer so air will be colder.

Does the Seibon ram air hood have the same ducts as the RK sports hood?
