A red FRS pulled up next to me at an onramp this morning. First thing I heard as he crept near was the crickets. Sad...

My girlfriend can hear the crickets now, and she doesn't particularly have an ear for mechanical things. I didn't even point it out to her. She asked.

I found Mobil and Chevron being significantly better than Shell.
Better power and less chirping.
I found 76 and Shell to be on the same tier of gas to opt for if I can't find Mobil/Chevron.

Over the last week Ive barely noticed chirping. It's either non-existent or very slow and quiet. Ive only pumped Shell 91.

Had my fuel pump replaced 10/26 no more crickets!!! Until....... I got a check engine light this week!!! So I stopped by Autozone to see what it could be. Gave me 2 codes:

P1170-Port Injector Fuel Performance

P117B-Direct Injector Fuel Performance

The stupid lady cleared them out so I have to wait till they come back on in order for me to take it back to the dealer. I'm scared guys hoping its something small

They should have asked if you want them cleared. Well, now you know next time you have one checked to mention in advance to NOT clear it.

Don't stress about it. If its a significant permanent condition the light would come right back on. Just drive normal.

I had my pump replaced at the end of October. Crickets were back within 500 miles. They seem louder than they did prior to pump replacement. I've tried a few tanks of Shell 93, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Waiting patiently for a real fix.

So your dealer specifically said that the part number is new, and he knew it when ordering?

My replacement pump #2 arrived, but I don't want to waste time doing it, if the part # is old.
