Well, there's this:

https://jalopnik.com/subaru-says-the...att-1832263089

Apparently, CarScoops (another reputable news outlet) asked BOTH Toyota and Subaru if the 86/Twins were going to be cancelled.
Both responded with a hard "No" (and possibly a raised "WTF" eyebrow).

So it seems safe to say that of the two rumours, the rumour about canceling the next generation BRZ/86 is the less-likely rumour.
Though both are rumours until we actually see a 2nd gen on the showroom floor.

I am going to count how many times the same "breaking news" is posted. Doesn't anybody read before posting anymore?

I do enjoy the ones where the clickbaits try to make it sound like they were the ones that did the footwork. Oh, and the fact that some still string out the bullshit with "Subaru may still back out". Talk about hedging your bets. The sad part is they are making loads of money off of clicks.

Yeah, so much money that these "news" organizations keep "restructuring."

another link with the same claims of a new 86. the interesting part is its saying that the car is already here and have been seen by those in Toyota.

https://www.carscoops.com/2019/02/to...ittle-brother/

What’s more, Bott added that those within Toyota have already seen the second-generation 86 and that it is just around the corner.

The "potential" stock market crash hullabaloo may be pushing the new release further around the corner and into the next suburb.

I'm shocked this wasn't a major story within the "ethical" car report stories.

It was confirmed by some guy who translated something someone said when discussing something else.

How much more factual do they need their information.
