Karting? How bout some FR-S'ing

I'd love to get together with some people and close out a parking lot and do some slalom/autocross.. or a donut/cookie meet!!

I was looking at joining VCMC, but it sounds like you can't just show up and participate as a new member.. and all their new member courses etc, are done for the year. Would love to get together with some folks and practice some stuff and learn to drive in a safe area!

I was wondering about that myself. Thanks for posting this.

I'm glad I didn't bother going then.

Good idea for a thread guys. If I can make a suggestion, we should all meet up like at the Scion Launch Party and get to know each other.

As always, I'm itching to do some more karting. Anyone want to go to F440 one sunny morning?

EDIT: I almost forgot. I was driving down near Jerico beach on Sunday at about 4:15 when I saw some old lady drive past me in a Silver FR-S! Now I'm not one to judge someone because of personal appearance, but when I saw her I said "there's no way that's her car". I'm guessing its a present for some lucky rich kid and she was just driving it home.

Ben
She probably bought it to pick up man-candy...

I'm totally down to shut down a parking lot and thrash the FR-S. Seriously, just tell me when and where!

I've got a few friends in VCMC. Yes you can just show up and drive if you want but you've got to go onto their site and register first for the Autocross events. I'm pretty sure as long as you register before hand, they will inspect your car and ask you to attend the drivers meeting in the morning. But I'm pretty confident you can attend if you register in advance.

The problem with the FR-S and VCMC is our stupid tires. I've had 2 experienced VCMC members tell me 100% for sure that we cannot run the FR-S with stock tires. According to my friends, the tires will be too loud. They keep telling me VCMC won't let me run stock tires but I don't know for sure. I expect them to be correct though. They are both quite competitive.

Nah, if she wanted old dudes she would've got a Caddy or a Buick. The FR-S attracts youth.

Careful accepting any beverages from her, you may end up in the trunk of a different coloured FR-S.

Heh...

I do this almost everyday up at Cypress Bowl haha.

I'm deff down for a meet I am always driving around anyways

You can deff join VCMC and go to the events. They actually have a couple of novice events coming up. 250 a pop that includes one on one time with an instructor and I think the event coming up is July 26 and the one after that is August something.

We should deff have a meet soon tho gather up as many of the FRS/BRZ in town currently.

Go Karting? Cheap food at nightmarket? I dunno just throwing out ideas

Any pool player here? Doesn't have to gamble, just share the table time or play for the table.

Karting is great too, I'm down for anything competitive.

Hey guys!

Thought I'd take a second to say hello to fellow Vancouverites!! You may have seen my post on this forum HERE

My name is Richard and along with Shift Autosport we will be competing in the Scion www.tunerchallenge.ca

We picked up the car the other day from Richmond Open Road Scion:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKjcmWftidk&hd=1"]Team VCMC Scion Tuner Challenge! - YouTube[/ame]

The car will mainly be living at Shift Autosport who will be selling FR-S specific parts which we help test and develop during the competition.

I'll check back here often and bring the car out to meets ect, and you're always welcome to drop by and check out the car at Shift!

Rich
