I'm planning to get wheels and tires before coils, so this about fitment on stock suspension. Daily driving + autox and maybe track day eventually.

17x9 +38 is the main size for the wheels I'm looking at (Rays 57CR).

245/40 tires.

I think this will fit in the back and rub a tiny bit in the front. I'm okay with using a spacer (not sure if I need 3mm or less) in the front assuming that I won't need it once I get the coilovers. I'm also pretty sure this'll fit any brake upgrades.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
Actually, that will fit just fine you do not any spacers. That setup will work on stock suspension and and on coils just fine. Just note that the front is going to be poke a bit on stock suspension, but once you lower on coils it will fit nice.

Hi Leonardo,

Would I have rubbing issues on the ff setup:
- 18x8.5 +42 57xtreme
- eibach prokit

Looking at either 245/40/18 or 235/40/18. Also, i was hoping i wouldnt have to stretch the tire but wouldnt want rubbing issues either.

Thanks!

No, that will not rub. Its gonna fit nice almost flush with a 1" drop. You should probably get a 245/35/18 tire size as that is pretty close to stock tire size. The two tire sizes you mentioned are a little tall, but if you had to pick from those two choices i'd do with the 235/40/18.

Thanks!... unfortunately from where I'm at, very slim pickings for 245/35

I’ve tried to do my research, but I’ve never bought aftermarket wheels before.
Will this setup have any issues? Or rubbing? Or any extra pieces like camber bolts or certain alignment I might need for it?

18x8.5 with +37 offset
245/35/18
Eibach Sportline lowering springs (-1.4” front/-1.4” rear)

Thanks guys!

No thats not going to rub or have any issues. You can get camber bolts for the front if you want. Running some negative camber in front is pretty good for this car it will help with grip.

Will this fit comfortably? My friend is getting rid of his TE37’s in about a year and giving me a good deal on them.

18x9.5 +35 Volk TE37SL’s while being dropped 1” on Eibach Pro-kits on stock suspension.

I’ve used the wheel calculator for fitment and it seems to check out. I’ll be running about -2 camber on the fronts to avoid too much poke since the +35 is a bit much. I definitely want to avoid rubbing at full lock. I wouldn’t have to worry about spring perch clearance with a +35 will be running 245/35/18 MP4S or MPSS tired. Is there anything else I should be worried about? Coilovers and adjustable LCA’s are for later in the build since my shocks are still pretty new.

18x9.5 +35 with a 245/35 MPS4S will fit with Prokit springs, But IIRC, there won't be enough room to add -2 front camber. The clearence is in the mm already..

I meant either -1 or -2 degrees in total while being dropped 1” since dropping normally adds camber. I’m guessing at that setup since I can’t add much front camber even with 1” drop, I’ll have a decent amount of poke at +35. Unless I go coils and then use the camber bolts to tuck in the poke properly. Ahh so many things to account for.

That's not how camber works on our cars. Lowering does not add camber in the front, only the rear. Because it is a Mac Strut design. Anyway, you will get somewhere around -2 rear camber from Prokit springs.

My 18x9 +42 wheels have basically the same inner clearance to the spring perch. Your 18x9.5 +35 is only going to be 0.7mm further away from it. So you will have something like 3mm to 5mm clearance in the front. I installed a 10mm spacer in the front to be able to add camber. Then I added coils to be able to add more camber and a 15mm front spacer.

You will want/need coils to "dial" those wheels in.

Thanks a lot for the help man! I’ll just go coilovers and save myself the headache since I’ve had my eyes set on ST coils. I’m only dropping 1” max, hopefully I don’t have to get adjustable LCA’s. Much appreciate the detail you provided.

I think at a minimum will also want LCA; spc, moog, whiteline are all lower cost and will work great! I also highly suggest the bumpsteer kit. It really makes a difference. I installed all the other parts first, then the bumpsteer kit; it gave the car a more solid planted feel. LCA are good because after lowering 1", my natural rear camber was -1.8 left and -2.2 right. This did not cause uneven tire wear, but it looked funny to me.

For my rear setup I got:
Coils - FA 500's lowered - 1.25"
LCA - Blackworks Billet -3.0 rear camber
J2 Trailing arms - these center the rear wheel front to rear in the wheel well after lowering
J2 Toe arms - adjusts toe back to zero

For my Front:
Coils- FA 500's lowered - 1.25"
Camber bolts - SPC - with these bolts and my tophats I have -2.5 rear.
Whiteline Bumpsteer / roll center kit - fixes suspension geometry after lowering - suggested for setups lowered more 1" or more.

I am about to change my alignment to -3 front and -2.5 rear, which is better than my current spec.

I also got endlinks and sways, but they are not necessary to make the wheels fit like you want.
