Very nice setup, I am curious what @Jonsey intends to use this car for? Is he going for a safe track day car that could still be driven to events?

The car gets driven very little on the street but I still enjoy taking it out from time to time not on track and don't want to be confined to always putting it on a trailer when headed to the track. I wanted the rollbar designed to be able to turn into a cage at a later date without modification and to be SCCA and NASA compliant. The top will have to be removed to do that, but that is not a huge deal.

As to the future of the car, still undecided. I will likely start doing some time trials with it, but I hate the confines of the points system and classing so who knows. I need to get smarter on the TT2/3 classes to see if I could make something work there with additional power.

The NASA TT points system is completely changing. TT4 is now a class for 2017 and TT5 will probably be a class in 2015.

I noticed in the original CAD drawings the driver's side harness bar was curved back, away from the driver. But the finished product has a straight bar. Why the change?

The curved bar was necessary for the larger Racetech seat in the gray car (this one), which was the starting point for the design. Once we got Jonsey's seats in his car, we decided it wasn't necessary.

This car still has its OEM seat belts, so we didn't do anything.

I also have a Beastronix unit waiting to be installed, so it will be handled by that (besides just being able to run the stock belts if desired).

I didn't know we could program that.

Wow that is a great looking bar.

Is there any plan to reinstall the rear interior, or are you going to leave the back seat area gutted?

The back seat area is going to stay gutted. I'm sure we'll convince him to turn it into even more of a racecar in the future.

Out of curiosity, how do you obtain the CAD model for the car to start your design? Are there companies that 3D scan and sell those or what?

Check out the @GSpeed development build thread. IIRC they had someone take laser measurements of a stripped interior

Yeah, there's some good companies that contract the work. If you're interested in having something scanned, let me know and we can refer you to some good contractors.
