How often did you replace the trans oil... I replaced mine every 10K miles until it broke (The amsoil fluid it had had 9K when the bearings let go)... now I'm replacing it every 2-3 events or 5K miles whichever comes first.

hmmmm........what makes you think that your transmission "broke" because the oil had 9,000 miles on it ...... ??

I think I replaced the trans oil about every 100,000 miles in previous cars. I never had a problem with them. In this car I replace the trans oil with Motul at a minimum annually. I also changed it after break in on the original transmission and the replacement transmission (replaced under warranty).
I really like the BRZ. It's a lot of fun and a screaming bargain for the level of performance. That said, it is a $25,000 car. In my book that's an economy car. It's not well made, and that goes for the transmission, too.

The guy I quoted saying maintenance is part of longevity... The real reason is this transmission sucks, uses little oil and easily overheats at the track.

Anyways, mine was replaced under warranty.

I have 104,500 miles on a 2013 BRZ Limited

I changed the Spark plugs and all 4 brake pads at 100k (rear were ok but front were close which is why I changed them)
Throw out bearing at 88k and going into the shop for that again this Friday
Change accessory belt when trouble shooting the squeak which was the TOB
Fuel level sender sensor (P0462) needs to be replaced... waiting to do the fuel filter
Driver left seat bolster wear
Windshield & front bumper beat up from highway driving
I am on the second set of OEM tires
Regular oil changes
Manual Trans and Diff changed once
No other fluids have been changed

I have had a borla EL, JDL UEL and OFT and those are gone. I still have a catted nameless op/fp, q300 and K&N air filter. I'm running OEM tires on Legacy GT wheels and winter tires on OEM wheels.

All of that said, I still love my car and hope that I get to put another 100,000 miles on it but I hate the throw out bearing.

That's impressive!

Haven't changed your engine coolant though?

Nope I haven't changed the coolant. The next on my list is to change the brake fluid. I'll probably do that when I put on the winter tires because I found my vacuum bleeder which was packed away when I moved into a new house

Oh, I forgot to add that I changed the accessory belt when I was troubleshooting the squeaking that turned out to be the TOB.

It was too loud and not worth it... All bark no bite. It's not that it wasn't faster with that setup but if I did it all over again I would probably just skip the header and strap on a barely used supercharger purchased on from a forum member.

I forgot something else which I've updated in my original post..

Fuel level sensor A (P0462) needs to be replaced... waiting to do the fuel filter

I get a CEL light for this code about 50% of the time that I get really low on gas... by really low I mean I can fit at least 11 gallons of fuel in the tank to fill it up.
