Nice find! I'm interested to see the exact specs of their turbo. I guess we'll just have to wait until September and see what shows up.

nice to see a lot of companies making aftermarket turbos... but my major worry is gonna be FA20 gonna be another EJ251.

Can you elaborate? Sorry for my ignorance, I'm really only well educated in my Honda engines...

+1 .. was the 251 like a failure from the scooby lineup? this is what i could find

EJ251 Flat four EJ251

The EJ251 has demonstrated externally leaking head gasket issues on occasion as the engine accumulates mileage over 100,000 miles (160,000 km). SOHC Intake volume is calculated by the use of a MAP sensor, unlike the EJ253 which uses a MAF sensor. Compression ratio is 10.0:1.

Yes the earlier SOHC EJ251 engines are well known for head gasket failures. The engines which have come along after that do not have the same issue, nor the DOHC EJ251 used in the 98 2.5RS, it was somewhat of a fluke.

Also, if you boost an EJ251 the max psi you can push is 8. Which gives you little return in power and more than likely a blown motor or tranny down the road.

I drive a 2000 Impreza RS with a SOHC EJ251. I'm on my 2nd engine already.

Ah, makes sense. Nobody likes a poorly designed headgasket. I guess time will tell when it comes to boost. If aftermarket interest continues at this rate we should have plenty of options as far as HG's and forged internals are concerned - that being said I'm not too worried.

+1 as long as the block is good, i dont think upgrading the internals should be a problem, lol shipping a block to india, i dont even want to begin thinking of cost of shipping one. also im waiting to see how much tuners can push on stock internals.

I don't think the Japanese Aftermarket industry has been this active since the early 90's! Awesome to see alot of the old big names coming back hard!
