NEED? no. Doesn't hurt to have though. Better pads and fluid would be ample unless you're doing something more serious or are planning on a hydraulic setup at which point, you'd be replacing the whole rear setup.

No more power is needed. Just tires and a set of coilovers are game changers

You are correct -

With the dizzying speed of 217.973 km/h, Kuba Przygoński has set a new Guinness World Record in high-speed drifting! On September 3rd 2013, on a former military airport in Biała Podlaska - Poland, the ORLEN Team member, behind the wheel of a massive Toyota GT86 with 1068 horsepower under the bonnet, reached the average speed of 217.97 km per hour with controlled skidding and the maximum slip angle of 49 degrees. Entry speed 256km/h, drift speed 217km/h.

if only the car came stock with this sort of setup...

absolutely brilliant

I'm loving that someone went ahead and developed uprights for this car already... some other marques go for decades without any such support

Just went to my first drift event and had a blast. Car noob question about changing Diff fluids and automatic transmission fluid. How often do you guys change the fluids for drifting? Manual says to change the automatic transmission/diff fluid every 60k. Being proactive and keeping up with maintenance is important but what's a happy medium between price and maintaining your drift car.

I removed my front sway bar and the car drives so fuckin good now. No more endlink bind, so not only did it free up steering, but I'm actually able to hold and use all the angle. Shit is amazing.
