Just turned on mine yesterday. Took me a while to figure out that I had to open the door and press unlock at the same time. First ten tries I held down the unlock button for a seconds before opening the door and couldn't figure out why it was working.
It's been mentioned in previous posts but you have to wait for around 30 seconds or so after locking (key or handle) before the alarm is actually armed. You'll see the light on your dash turn off when it's ready. |

To check if it's armed lock the door with the windows down. Leave the fob several feet away do the car doesn't detect it. Reached inside and unlock it manually and open the door. If it goes off then your alarm is on. Helps to have another person.

Setting the Alarm
Thanks for the heads up. Just a tip, if you follow the instructions in the manual it doesn't mention a few things thing: after getting in and closing the door you have to lock it again. Only then do you press the on button, unlock(press and hold), open the door and hold for ten seconds. Also my concern now is that when I close the door there is 3 light beeps, and when i hit the lock button on the key fob while walking away there is no locking sound, no flashing tail lights no nothing. Sooooo... not sure if it is simply always locked if the alarm is set, or what...
