Explanation on the different driving modes?
Could someone explain to me the different modes vsc, sport, snow ect.
What does it do and when to apply it? And when to take it off if you want to do something. No fancy explanation just the basics. thanks |

Sport lets you hang the tail end out a little more while still pulling it in to avoid you spinning out completely. OFF off is as if the traction control didn't exist on the car to begin with.
I have yet to change it from the default ON setting. There's only been one time that I did something very stupid that even the traction control was probably facepalming at me. Fortunately, I was able to get it straightened out. (Think someone giving you directions, "the turn is up here.... like RIGHT HERE" and it practically being a 90 degree turn at a good 35mph, in third gear ).

We honestly need a better explanation. There' 3+ modes. 1 button lights up VSC Sport and another light. The other lights up trac off. If you hold down that button you get trac off and another light up which is true freedom to spin the wheels.
Just pushing trac off seems stupid because the car still corrects itself and you can't spin

Wow with all the book talk, let me make it simple
VSC , when you push that off it basically doesn't do much, it takes off the traction a bit and the stability won't be there to aid you and straighten out the car Traction off is the same as VSC without turning of the stability/skid control , it just turns off traction , you still have the stability and skid control Snow mode starts you off in 2nd gear, this is to prevent peels out in slippery conditions .. Hence the low torque in 2nd gear start If you want full control and think you can handle this car at its full potential , hold down the traction button for 5 seconds , you have now turned off any aids the computer has to offer to you in handling the car. |

Nepenthe, so you're saying we can't fully turn the VSC off? I've been holding it down, but it still kicks in and it's a pain in my ass when I'm trying to get rowdy.

You must be trying to get pretttty rowdy! I keep mine at the default setting and I still manage to break her loose from time to time, even for just a moment.

You can pull a fuse to disable VSC/TC entirely but I think it also turns off ABS...

Correct, short of pulling the fuse as mentioned, my understanding is that even if you hold the OFF button for four seconds while completely stopped, turning "off" both VSC and TC, that the VSC will still intervene at some point.
