Eh, the cog wouldn't move that far forward. It would certainly be higher than stock, but in this car it would still be very low regardless. I would do a full overhaul of the car if I were to commit to the project. Wider wheel base, wider body (fenders anyway), huge sticky rubber, low tight fully adjustable suspension, etc. I would make the car extremely light and stiffen the hell out of the already very stiff chassis (including full roll cage).

Would it be worth it? Doubtful. Awesome? I'd say definitely. Lol

Reminds me of my favorite "modded" off-roader I bumped into. Riding ATVs in KY with some friends we were met coming the other way by a Suzuki Sumuri on a custom frame with tractor tires and a Cummins school bus diesel engine! Sadly I did not have a camera.

It was like meeting Sasquatch! The driver stopped and shared some "homebrewed alcohol" with us. I abstained.

There is actually one japanese shop car with an H6 in it, but I think it was the older EZ30/6, not the newer EZ36R.

Out of curiosity I looked into this swap for a little while, and it seems like it might be just as much work as any other swap. Although some places quote that Japanese car as using the stock trans, saying it bolted up. I couldn't find enough info on the bolt patterns of either the FA20 or the EZ36R to say whether it is possible before my curiosity ran out though. The most I got out of it is that the newer EZ36R would be the best bet, although the older EG33 is pretty cheap and has been done a number of times into a bunch of different vehicles.

I believe @PERRIN has some experience with an EZ30 swap...

But I think the bottom line is that it would probably run somewhat more expensive than an LS swap.

With the H6 swap you do keep the horiginal design for the car with a engine that has a very low center of gravity.

Looking at the Vorshlag LS swap, it doesn't look to sit all that much higher:




Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of an H6 in this car. I think it would be awesome. I just think it would be one of the more expensive options. As far as power goes, just about any stock LS engine will rip the H6 pound for pound. I think to make it worthwhile, the EZ36 will have to be built and blown, which is yet more investment.

Like I said, I love the idea, and if I had an unlimited budget I would absolutely consider it. But I would probably also consider a Porsche first.
