Most likely not since the tS fills the special model slot for 2018

If I read the Android Auto page correctly, it looks like the BRZ will be getting an upgrade in MY18. Might make a difference in my decision making.

What is an Android Auto Page? If not an official Subaru press release then anything they have to say is still speculation at best and pure fiction at worst.

Edit: Ahhhh, THAT Android Auto. Inclusion of some support for Apps does not indicate an upgrade.

We have the Android Auto in the wife's 17 Impreza. It is not exciting.

I mean, I'm sure it depends at least a little on the head-unit. Just because it has that feature doesn't mean it's fast to use with little to no lag, etc.

Also, is the screen capacitive or resistive, etc..

I doubt they would spring for a capacitive display on an OEM unit, but we can hope!

I use it when I drive our 17 Impreza Loaner cars but in the 8 inch screen. Mostly used it to connect music and navigation. The on-screen graphics have the same texture/style for maps so it's easy to glance at. Besides that it pretty much just integrates main phone apps and resizes it to fit the screen of the car. But we are so used to the speed & responsiveness of our smartphones so it does feel a bit delayed in terms of that.

Pretty sure the BRZ will be getting a re-fitted 6.5inch Harman unit based on the low-level 17 Imprezas.

This^ only on an 8" display. Not a hope of seeing that size in a BRZ though.

Yeah, was mostly curious how it felt to operate rather than what features it has. I'm curious what the difference is between a cheaper unit with android wear/carplay and a more expensive one. I want to say the higher-end ones have better processing power and screens with little to no lag, but I haven't used enough to compare them myself. (shrug)

Eh, I don't think the display needs to be that large anyway. I drove with somebody yesterday who was using a freaking full size iPad as their headunit..

Eh, I don't think the display needs to be that large anyway. I drove with somebody yesterday who was using a freaking full size iPad as their headunit..

It fits the Impreza very nicely but I agree it would be gross overkill in a BRZ. I have had smaller TVs over the years.
