~10 mph average speed, probably stop-and-go most of the time... that explains the mpg

If I am right, the trend itself may be spurious, showing up only because you started driving in one of low-mpg periods (winters?) and now you are in summer high-mpg period.

You'll get better mileage if you slow down to 60 and take a nap.

I slow down to 60 on that stretch of highway and I am going to have a truck go right over me!
And where did I say I didn't already nap?

Gas Mileage

I usually get over 320 miles a tank ( corrected from gallon )depending on my driving. Spirited driving will never get great gas milage. Driving Ms. Daisy slow cruising will get you better gas mileage.

I presume you accidentally dropped the decimal point. Be careful, once nuclear war almost started because of a similar mistake.

Close to 4 years. Here it is averaged by month. It does have a seasonal pattern to it, but does appear to go up over time. The dips and peaks I can explain, and look more drastic than they are because of the axis limits.

BTW, I have posted each tank in my owner's journal OP.

Pretty sure he meant per tank.

But that doesn't really tell us anything, since there's a 2.4 gallon reserve. If he runs the tank down close to empty, that's 25.6 MPG. If he stops immediately once the light comes on, that's 31.7 MPG. Saying "I get X mileage per tank" is almost as meaningless as comparing insurance rates.

...and it seems many folks never learned how to calculate miles-per-gallon.

I calculate miles-per-gallon at every fill-up. It generally reads about 1 mpg higher than actual.

My indicated MPG ranges from 31.5-34.5. Calculated is 30-33.5
