Dammit, what crap timing!
I was going to buy an Elantra (the most sensible car available today!) - then I realised it was supposed to be the end of the world - so I got my 86

Hi all,

Not sure if any one has spotted me, silver standard 86 in PTA with extensive hail damage. Waited and struggled to find stock in Gauteng, found one left in Balito. Flew down to collect and then got hit by the massive Edenvale hail storm on my way back.. 500km on the clock. No panel on the car untouched... And can only go in for repairs in Jan due to scarce parts in SA still drives like a beast though

My car stil has an injured rear so I feal your pain. Panelbeaters and insurance haven't even given me a date so I will be querying my excess... All I wanted was a an ETR, which they haven't given me, neither have they given me a book in date. Poor, poor, poor!!! Been waiting since Nov 9th!!!

Insurance is covering, and they are replacing the bonnet and right fender so at least those two panels will be brand new. Rest of the items the panel beater should be able to clear no hassles.. Or let's hope so..

And the paint match will be pretty simple as there shouldn't be any fading or anything.

What does a bonnet cost?

When it's finished, check the paint in the sun, I've noticed on lots of occasions that they get the colour perfect but then the metallic grain is different.

Thanks for the advice. Will def inspect with a fine tooth comb when I receive it back. Bonnet is quoted at R5 230 and the right fender about R3 200

No problem. That is a lot cheaper than I thought since it's aluminium, well done Toyota.
