Drive safe out there today, everyone.
At 2pm on my way to work, the 403 was crawling all the way from the 410 to Erin Mills where I got off, with white-out conditions and no plows out yet, and it's still coming down hard.

Even with snow tires, and driving like a nanny, it was slippery AF. Rear wheels kept trying to step out. Funny part is, there was absolutely NO snow at my house in Bolton when I left at 1pm. Nothing was even falling. The drive was totally normal until I was on the 410 almost at the 403, and all hell broke loose. It was like day and night. Usually it's the other way around, and Bolton gets hammered with snow while everyone else has it easy. So apparently it's opposite day today.

I googled one in woodbridge recently and called for a quote. Was looking at the ES1s. They quoted me 429 each for the rims, meanwhile at FT86Motorsports they're $300 with free shipping. Easy choice there

And at that price, you could have bought a nice, lightweight wheel that wouldn't scream "I'm too broke to buy the real thing"

And how do I know which brands are replica brands? No prices are listed in the directory. I'm scrolling through and I'm like okay that looks good. But it's some random name. I mean I know brands like Volk, BBS, Work, Enkei, Advan.... then there are other brands that seem decent like TSW and Konig... or are they replicas too? See I have no idea. I wouldn't put TSW or Konig in the same category as Work, Volk, or BBS...however they're not technically reps I guess.
I have reps right now and I personally don't care. There's a difference between having reps and not giving a shit and being up front about it, and having reps and telling everyone they're real. Anyone here who has met me knows that the first words out of my mouth when asked about my wheels is "they're not real". It's even in my signature! I'm not made of money, but I'm also not a douche who's going to lie about it to look cool. Not everyone can swing $3k+ for a set of real wheels, and shouldn't be made to feel guilty for that, UNLESS they claim their reps are real. In that case, fuck you. If you're the type of person who needs the real deal no matter what, more power to you. I won't judge you for spending extravagant amounts of money on your wheels if you don't judge me for having reps.

It really comes down to what you are using your wheels for. In my case, I track them heavily in the summer on course that see a ton of beating due to the winters we get. I hit curbs (if they're the friendly type) and I hit them as hard as I need to if it makes me quicker.
At that point, I want the real deal - not some replicas that will crack under that kind of load. I'd rather spend $3k to protect my $25k investment or stick with stock wheels which were pretty decent from the factory just not uber lightweight. On the other hand, if you just want looks, by all means, buy whatever you feel is worthy on your car. But don't be surprised if they can't survive track day beatings.
