Has anyone completely rebadged their FR-S with Toyota/GT86 badges?
In the Scion 10 thread someone commented about the light-up Scion badges, (paraphrasing) "don't they know we want closer to 0 Scion badges?" This is my only rub with the car... the Scion name and what it represents. The 10 edition drives that home even more, with the ricer crap they added. I drove the BRZ and prefer the FR-S so that is the direction I will be going, Scion nameplate or not.
I have seen a few pics of USA cars on here sporting GT86 badges. Has anyone done a complete rebadge job, meaning front and back Toyota emblems, wheel center caps and a GT86 badge on the back? If so please share your experience and vendors you used, and of course, pics! I see you can even get the 86 steering wheel online. That would probably be my final touch if I really wanted to expunge the Scion infestation completely. I don't think the wheel looks to bad and I like the chrome emblem, but it may be worth it to have what the car should have been to begin with. Why did North America have to get screwed here? |

I have only done front, rear badges, "86" fender badges, and I removed the stock wheels, so no stock SCION center cap. I won't worry about the FRS floor mats until mine either ware out or a lhd gt86 all season mat becomes available. I will probably go with an aftermarket steering wheel to remove that scion badging, but who knows, maybe I will win the lottery and pick up that JDM airbag one day? It just seems really overpriced for what it is.
I have an extra set of the front and Rear T badges I can sell you as well. As for where I got everything from? I bought the front and rear T badges from ft86speedfactory.com (best price on the net at the time), and I bought the rest at the Toyota dealership in Nagoya. |

So when they park next to a Corolla or a Prius, the owners can relate on how fast and sporty both their cars are.
Or to say to the world "Hey, i care about the image of the car so much that i spent money on badges to confuse people and make other car guys think i'm a wee bit loco." Either one.

I rebadged my exterior because I like the Toyota badges. One day I'll get the centercaps but they are pretty expensive for something you can barely see. I took off the FRS emblem, so people always ask "What kind of Toyota is THAT?!"
I find that amusing, dunno why. |

Not to mention the only friend I've known who's ever driven a scion didn't exactly set a great example (driving wise) for all scion owners out there. I understand why people ask about rebadging, I just wouldn't do it (if I had an FR-S) for financial reasons. |

The respect for Toyota might be for those who know about the sporty cars they produced, but its not so well rounded as you may think.
