Decent race...

Nice drive by Vettel to go from 18th to 5th. Hammy back on the top step. Good to see Bottas back on the podium where he belongs. Rosberg is a tool.

P2 for Austrian GP was pretty much a toss-up as I think most teams are sandbagging for P3 and qualifying tomorrow. Mercedes 2nd and 5th on the board. Hamilton did blow one corner like 3 times so if he's playing possum, he's doing a fine job of it. This is a much higher speed and harder braking type track and some teams were complaining of braking issues. Sundays race could turn into a survival fest.

As I figured,.............Hamilton P1 and Rosberg P2 but not without some drama. Hamilton had set fast lap and then spun going into turn one. Rosberg was ahead of him and had set best time for one or two of the sections and then gets squirrely into turn 8 and then slides off into turn 9 and ends up second.

So lineup is:
Hamilton
Rosberg
Vettel
Massa
Hulkenberg
Bottas
Verstappen
Kvyat (10 spot grid penalty)
Nasr
Grosjean
Maldonado

Well, Rosberg got better traction off the line and got ahead of Hamilton going into turn one and that was the end of it. Felipe Massa did finish 3rd with Vettel chomping at the gearbox. Raikkonen and Alonso in big wreck on first lap, both ok.

Kind of a bad race with the crash and so many cars dropping out. When Honda came back to F-1 I had high hopes for them, nothing but disappointment so far. But I still think as great as Honda is they will eventually get their act together.
At least my Williams boys did good.

Well, we nearly had a good battle between Ham/Ros, but the first time it was interrupted just as it was getting started by a safety car, and Hamilton's 5-second penalty got in the way of it ever happening again....

Hamilton P1 again even though Rosberg led most of the practices. Looks like the stewards are watching cars that put all 4 wheels beyond the white lines in corners for being off course or out of bounds and several drivers had times dis-allowed during qualifying for it.
