Anyone knows the history of this car?

I saw this BRZ on sale for just $21k and 600 miles.

Does anyone know the story about it? How bad was the accident? (it has a reconstructed title)

http://www.silverlineautomotive.com/...-10056991.html

Thanks!

not sure about this car specifically, but silverline does salvage some pretty smashed up imprezas to sell. if they're still making a profit selling this car for $21k, you might have to be at least a little concerned about what kind of wreck it was in.

43% of the twins that have been sold so far have been in an accident... It's a staggering statistic

Why buy a wrecked one when a new FR-S can be had for 25k? Plus the bank won't finance salvaged titled vehicles.

It says "Condition: Used Clear Title" on the page you linked. How do you know it's reconstructed?

EDIT: Never mind, I see where it says now :p

A friend of mine named Tim Bordone works for the US highway safety board and he gets statistics of all vehicles sold that have a High accident rate... I am not saying they are all totalled because that's not what it is... I just said that 43% have been in some kind of accident that was reported to his department from an insurance company... If I remember correctly he said only 8% have been a total loss on the vehicle... It's just sad knowing that people buy these cars and wreck them not knowing how to drive the properly...

Just happen to see it, and wow... so little miles and inexpensive.

Good point, but I do like BRZ a little more.

before I got my FR-S I was looking at Silverline's inventory, because they always had the cheapest prices in the area for used WRX/STI listings. as you're already finding out, it's because 99% of the cars are reconstructed, and I didn't want that on my title in case I decided to sell later.

a quick google search of the VIN shows what kind of damage the car had before, looks like the whole front bumper got ripped off + airbag went off.

still considering it?

I bought a salvaged vehicle once. The price is what got me to buy it but later down the road I realized when it rained the trunk filled with water. Even after I replaced the trunk lid seal, it still filled with water. Moral of the story, salvaged cars are like a box of chocolates you find in a dumpster, never know what you're gonna get (of if they are even edible).
