The dots size, material, colour, pattern are totally irrelevant as it isn't even the same car, belt or anything for that matter.

Keep in mind that my celica had never been washed under there for 11 years so there is going to be way more spatter.

If I cleaned it off and drove for a week Im sure I could come up with the same patterns.

The point is I really don't think its a bug or insect

My frs hood is black so I can't see these spots on it and i only have 3500 kilometers on it plus it only goes out on dry days.

The FRS does have covers to stop the spatter from happening and its exactly what they are for.

However the pattern on the white FRS is farther back from where the pulleys are but there is also very few dots.

There is a little black grommet on the clutch housing. I wonder if the OP's is missing

I still stand by my theory though. Being an engineer for this market I just don't see it being from a bug or insect.
ur theory would be right if my spots weren't located upper left corner of my hood when I'm in front of the car. so with that being said i don't think it has anything to do with belts because that area isn't even close to it.

i doubt that they will really look into it bc i came in for a shifter rattle and they ended up replacing my throw out bearing.

i just thought i mentioned it to them, I'm not too worried about it either but I'm curious as hell as to what it is lol

The last time I saw something akin to this it was due to a slight, very slight, leak at the high pressure ac line. Once that was replaced on the truck I worked on it never showed up again. Could be something else but that is one thing to look at.

That's good to hear, since it probably really is nothing. It will still annoy the heck out of me tho if mine comes back for a third time. Haven't seen more webs lately, and it's getting colder, so I'm going to keep thinking it was just spiders/bugs/etc.

I'd just check every once in awhile. If it truly has a problem it will become noticeable at some point.
