Wait, where do you get this balikbayan return pass? When I went in July they gave me some sort of balikbayan card (that has a valid thru --- to ----) kind of thing at Duty Free.

Anyway, Philippines is AMAZINGLY lucky. I am jealous, although if I still lived there I would never in a million years afford that car.
My kamaganak can't even begin to imagine how I worked to pay for my car when I told them it was this lol.

lol that duty free card is completely different.

this pass cannot be obtain very easily. a lot of paperwork to be submitted.

filipino auto importers and shipping lines can help you obtain this special pass for cars.

Hahaha! Well doesn't hurt to ask!
So is this strictly for American citizens? Hopefully Canadians can get this benefit too

Well you can use the balik bayan pass only once so I cant do it anymore. ><

Taxes 30% for 2.0 engine but the larger the engine the more the taxes example a V8 engine is ~70-100% tax of car value + accessories and other items.

BTW I was there when they shoot this film but I was outside the AIRPORT :-( .

The prices are not that far off with a $20 difference so I think its better to buy from japan directly. If you buy from Japan to Philippines then to USA you have to pay twice for the shipping.

Here is a good JDMparts online website that I personally trust but their prices are very expensive. try it if you want.

I bought a lot from these sites but be prepared for Custom TAXES when buying internationally.

I suggest buying 1 part a week to avoid taxes. Buying in bulk is a death wish for your wallets. Don't even try multiple single transaction because they will still ship it together.

just take note of the taxes so your father in law will not be paying any. try a cheep item then if it arrives with out taxes then buy the others but only an item a week or an item in two weeks to avoid bulk orders.

LHD Toyota 86 floormats anyone?

I tried contacting some friends that works for toyota factory and a dealership, no parts available yet since they just barely lunched it. I'll just save up and have my seaman uncle deliver the parts for me, since he travels every 6 months!

The Philippine market's luck to get the Toyota-branded 86 ends there. The grass is not as green as you might think. With only 77 units to go around, only rich and influential buyers (business tycoons, politicians or movie stars) can get their hands on one. Not only is the supply ridiculously exclusive to a select few the price is also ridiculously inflated with taxes (the base unit costs USD37K compared to the US FRS of USD25K).

The U.S. market is still by far the lucky market for getting almost an unlimited and relatively "cheap" supply of the FRS. Just about any average American Joe can get one.
