New Guy

My name is Andy and live in Wilmington, DE. A couple of weeks ago I was the first to order a FR-s from dealer. They will know more at end of month about delivery date. Have been thinking about getting a KnN air filter ahead of time if it is available. The air box looks like a subaru issue, wondering if it's taken from an existing model. Any ideas out there? Thanks!

New guy with a Veloster trading it for a BRZ (more than likely)

Hello guys and gals. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to post and participate as there seems to be a lot of good information here. I currently own a Hyundai Veloster and tonight made the almost firm decision to sell my Veloster at the end of this summer and get a BRZ. I must say that only a couple of weeks ago I had a mile long list of cars to consider and after reading the reviews and the forums I think this is the car I'm looking for in the price range I want to be. I previously worked as a salesman for Hyundai for a couple of years and had a near 80 mile round trip comute to work everyday so I had to buy something with awesome highway fuel economy and actually bought the first Veloster our dealership got. Anyway, it's been a cool little car but I'm wanting to step up to something different. Just thought I'd say introduce myself.

Hi. I really like the styling and features of the Veloster. Actually test-drove one but it just didn't have enough pick-up for me. The Turbo version coming out later this year should be good fun. But in terms of handling, the BRZ is on a different level obv.

If you didn't place an order for one yet, getting a BRZ may or may not be likely, depending on your region. Some dealers are sold out through November, others probably still have spots for late summer.

You'll probably take a good hit on your Veloster - new cars depreciate rapidly in the first 2 years. (and if you are trading it in, be prepared to be very insulted) as long as your expectations are in line with reality, you'll be able to make the financial decision.

Welcome and I say don't trade in your velostar yet until the dealer has the BRZ set for you.

Lots of news saying people will get their cars in late summer to almost end of the year.

Unless you somehow manage one then that's great news.

Best of luck new guy!

There are still BRZ pre-orders available. You just have to search and be willing to buy out of state. It's not sold out yet...

I see you're in Huntsville. Just FYI, I am cancelling an order on a Limited AT BRZ today from Landers Mclarty in Huntsville. I was #2 in line, so there should be a spot open there if you want to preorder! Talk to Thomas. I had agreed to a price of $29,015 plus a $599 documentation fee, so it seems like they're willing to negotiate on the price of the car to help offset the huge doc fee.

I really like the look of the Velostar, but the FWD turned me off. I'd love to see one with a solid, rear-biased AWD system.

I would not trade your Veloster right now, especially with the rumors going around about the BRZ/FRS getting yearly improvements like the GT-R. Although I dont blame you for wanting this car. I myself couldn't wait much longer and ended up with a TDI, but hopefully in the near future will find a nice used one for cheap.
