To much oil

Recently I took my car to the Subaru dealer to Have the oil changed. And checking the dipstick about two months later I realized is past to full mark by a little. Is this bad ? It’s like 3/4 of an inch over.

Thank You!

Nah, this dipstick does that all the time. Check both sides and it's at whatever the lowest side is

Engine. There's two dipstick holes, use the one that reads lower.

Looking for itself apparently...

(There is a single dipstick, with 2 holes in it. Procedure is pull dipstick, wipe it off, put it back in, pull it again and read it. If it still reads high, above the upper hole, then it's a bit overfilled. I wouldn't be too worried unless the overfilling is greater than the distance between the two holes.)

Lesson 1: Check the oil after the change before driving off of the lot. What if it really was way overfilled by some noob sloppy tech? Trust no one.

Lesson 2: RTM. Flat-four engine collects oil under the valve covers. Takes a long time to drain back to the pan. Sometimes people don't wait long enough and, thinking it's low, top off unnecessarily.

I don't know how much extra is the limit but it's a lot. I wouldn't sweat it.

Meh, I'll just buy a shorter dip stick. That way it would read normal.
Then when the oil gets too low I'll buy a longer one.
See? Problem solved.
