Haha it certainly is different. I ordered end of November and originally had an April eta. Now it's "end of March".

Probably has to do with allocation and stuff. You can dig through this thread for all the fun talk of how orders work or do not work

I have seen some ridiculous posts in this thread. I'm not certain though when dealerships are blowing smoke or just giving a fair estimate. The mentality is tell em a date that is a week late and deliver a week early that way no one is upset and everyone is just happy they got it sooner. I'm not entirely sure this is how it's even working though.

I have a friend that bought a Ford Focus ST, took him 4 months to get it. We have a Ford factory practically up the street and they turn out a truck in less than 24 hours from start to finish with roughly 88 trucks an hour leaving the building.... Why so long on the cars? Maybe it was manufactured somewhere else, maybe it's a smaller plant (it is a smaller plant actually), maybe who the heck knows? 4 months does seem like a long wait though especially when you don't have to wait for them to ship it overseas and travel nearly the whole continent.

Yes, I'm impatient but only about this car. LOL The good thing I have proven to myself thus far is that this has not been an impulse buy. Wanted it since 2012ish just have to wait a little longer I guess.

Probably just due to the fact that I previously ordered a limited non-pp. I've checked nearly every day for the last three months and no dealership in Washington has received a non-pp model

It's all down to allocation. Dealers don't pick what they get, do your "order" pretty much just puts you in line for the trim/color you want when they get a matching car.

I bought AST 4100 dampers with custom spring rates/valving, camber plates, FSB + endlinks, rear LCA's, and I still have left over for AP brake upgrade before the MSRP on a limited PP.

Only thing I really miss is the proximity key...

Overall I feel like I came out way ahead.

Well, there are different use cases for everybody buying a '17. It's cool you already have things planned out and know what ride style you want.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy you got one and in the timing you did. Heck with the amount of time you had to wait you probably could save to get the PP upgrade plus some. Just not used to saying I'm ready for something and being told, "No, you're not." Its like that long line at the deli and they tell you to take a ticket (Ticket 6597) but you're like "but I'm hungry now". <- First world problems.

"Now serving ticket number 6265!"

I got kinda lucky to get a 17 BRZ. I totaled my 13' FRS and only had a few days to buy new car and I really wanted a BRZ over the fugly 86 facelift. I called 9 local Subi dealers and found one just sitting on the lot!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I wanted to drive it from the valley up into the foothills before letting you know how it sounded.

It's got a little drone around 3000 RPM under a load (pulling a grade). No drone on the flat. It's not at all bad, and is easily eliminated by downshifting. The downshift is followed by the sweet notes of the boxer engine, and man does it sound good! Keep in mind it's the un-resonated (I was afraid the resonated would be a little quite for my taste). Even being un-resonated, it's quite tame at an idle.

Most welcome and i am glad they got there okay. I do my best to pack, but with UPS and Fedex you never know. And years ago i was an unloader for UPS, and i know how we treated packages.

Yes, I find it suspect that the second one has it's protective bits already removed though. It makes me think that maybe it's been there for awhile?
