Tuning Alerts and Alarms

You can configure up to 3 different Tuning Alerts. And each Tuning Alert can have up to 4 conditionals that can be set as an OR or AND condition. For available channels, it will be a subset of the up-to-14 channels you configured for data logging/viewing.
When conditions are met alarm will sound and OFT screen will Flash

Y'all are awesome! This is by far the best investment i've made towards my FRS. Keep up the great work guys. I just hope i start to get the hang of the OFT. i'm a noob when it comes to data reading. I just stare at the screen lol jk. but i look forward to learning a few things here and there.

this may be on the forum somewhere but I'm feeling kinda lazy as I'm about to hit the hay, but does the OFT work with a macbook? if it does is there anything special required for it to work. or is it the same operation as would be on a pc? thanks fellas

the openflash guys run mac's so it works fine.

not a mac guy but think they run 'parallels" or something as a windows emulator.

Are oft universal? I know it states it on the original post but it wasn't very specific. I.e a friend of mine to sell me his oft that he was using for his bmw, do I just have to load the right map for the 86 to make it work?

From my understanding your friend would have to un-marry his oft before you could read/flash your 86

Thanks. I'm really hoping it just read the 86 and be fine. I did get it for fairly cheap if it works.

As per the original post

Your friend MUST write back his original rom to his BMW
You must then ERASE the oft using open flash manager.

This will then allow the oft to be converted to an brz/86.

After the erase is done you need to select vehicle type toyota 86.

Then read in your stock ROM from 86

Then connect oft back to computer running openflash manager.

load up tunes to oft

connect to your 86/brz and then you can flash tunes.

LMK if you need a copy of Parallels. I have a spare one I had bought for my dad, but he decided not to get a Macbook.

I'm in the same boat about having a Mac desktop at home. If I understand correctly, Parallels just let you switch over to windows without rebooting? Also, you still need to have your own copy of Windows too? Thanks.

Yes, it's basically a virtual machine for OS X. Parallels lets you operate Windows in 2 modes - where Windows operates its programs as individual windows in OS X (it'd be like each program is a little app is probably the best way to describe it), or you can go full-screen Windows desktop mode (what I use).

And yes, you need to provide your own valid copy of Windows. I used a college program back when I was an undergraduate - many colleges have a deal with Microsoft to offer the OS for very cheap (< $20).

If we're offering free copies of Parallel, I'll take one. My Macbook would be so much more convenient than running back and forth from my desktop...
