OEM lugs vs after market replacements.
So long story short I bent a wheel and had to put my stocks back on.
it was then that I realized that the lugs I had on my wheels(57xtreme) were different from the OEM ones(now missing) that came with the car. so I went to Advance auto to get some stocks. well these are just like the new ones I had just shorter. the difference between the ones I just bought and the OEM I lost are a washer of sorts that seemed to fill in the space and press the wheel onto the hub with the threading going into the wheel to make contact. do I need the original OEM ones? the current set just feels like it might not center up and could cause a problem down the road. hopefully I described this enough/properly. ones I bought and same as what I currently have just shorter: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/fi...-wheel-lug-nut what the original OEMs looked like: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00DNPGM...ing=UTF8&psc=1 |
