For those on adjustable ride height coilovers, I'm curious of everyone's opinions if daily driving in a lowered position is ok with normal driving, but then adjusting ride height to a level position with the differential / axle would be sufficient for Autocross/track days ...

Or are the CVs so brittle that even DDing in a lowered position is simply a ticking timebomb ...

I wonder if there's a way to replace the rear hubs with lexus parts so we can use normal lexus/toyota axles. considering they don't shatter so easily, and the diff is the same as the IS300. you'd think you could swap the companion flanges out for IS300 ones if they're not already the same, and then it's just a matter of finding the right wheel bearing to fit a lexus hub.

I wonder if you can press the hubs out of the bolt-on wheel bearings

The FRS/BRZ doesn't run a companion flange on the diff side

Mine has been increasing in consistency too, but it hasn't failed *yet*.

Have you tried lubricating the cv? I read that it may get rid of it. I'm considering whether it's worth taking the car to the dealer and asking them to do that.

No, not yet. Currently troubleshooting what appears to be a DI seal failure first.

My car started clicking pretty consistently on initial acceleration. Were you able to find the culprit?

I'm pretty much all stock but a tune & e85, but beat the crap out of my car. It does sound like cv joint clicking but not as loud? If it gets louder and I can't visually see anything I may just go ahead and replace them to see.

Thanks!

I ended up buying DSS 600HP axles before I experienced any failure. I didn't disassemble the stock ones to see what might have been wrong.

Try replacing the axle nuts with new ones installed to proper torque specs. Supposedly the Subaru axle nuts are made with softer metal and may need to be replaced. (much like the wheel studs...)

I replaced mine after scratching my head about this clicking for 20K miles. The clicking went away after I replaced the driver side rear axle nut. After doing some google-fu I found that this was a rather common issue whit other subarus that share the same nut. Repacking the grease with fresh heavy duty grease along with replacing axle nuts may be a good fix if done early on.
