Make sure to at least bend the squirrel finders...

Though it's still a shitty thing to do to run an HID kit oand especially a 55w kit...

uhh.. been running 35w OLM HID kit in my stock projectors for months and never have received an angry flash.

Even had my mates drive it around with me in other cars, all sorts of scenarios- oncoming, tangent, intersection passes... we all agree that the cutoff is sufficient to not even bother people/have them notice if you have the headlights adjusted correctly.

Meanwhile.. I'm >LOVING< the upgrade. For $110 bucks, you can't go wrong.

The only real suggestion I would say is spend the little extra for TheRetrofitSource mini mori retrofit kit.

Been glared by several FRS's around here. Just because you don't get flashed, doesn't mean you're not glaring people.

Are you ignoring the fact I've personally driven past my own vehicle in various conditions with no outstanding glare- and had other people with me to judge? (not fanboy friends, actual friends who would tell me if my shit wasn't correct)

35w is passable.
55w is pushing it.
Any hid kit on a non-projector is the worst.

There are a few trucks around where I live clearly running blue like 8k or even 10k (one guys is straight up purple) in reflector housings. overall it actually doesn't bother me much TBH.

Keep thinking that. Truth is if you're blinding people.

Have you noticed that even OEM HID's have some glare when you seem them from head on? It's so you can read the signs on the side of the road. If no there was zero light above the cut off you wouldn't be able to. Are these projectors perfect? No they aren't. But I don't believe they are dangerous. A few of my lighting buddies agree that for halogen projectors, they do an excellent job.

The oem projector is actually really good.. I can careless about blinding people when I can just bend the squirrel thing down. Save your money instead of getting a retrofit

Small and overexposed pictures don't show glare well. Also, there's VERY little light above the cutoff.

The DOT specs for HID and halogen lighting are very different.

I've already gotten into this discussion many times, there are output limits for lighting, and because you're dealing with a light source essentially 2x brighter, the area under the cutoff is going to be too bright and the output will be far more narrow than a true HID projector.

People shouldn't "save their money" on proper lighting as it's safety equipment. You wouldn't cheap out on seat belts, brakes, or tires would you?

Oh wait, I work in the autoparts industry, of course people cheap out on this crap all the time...
