About the same number of miles as @_hollywood, and only "issue" I'm having is the buzz in the rear deck from the keyfob receiver vibrating under specific circumstances. I'm going to have them look at it at the 10K mile service.

Been doing some checking on these. Went to a local Hobbytown USA here that is huge into R/C cars. The guy there said that the FR-S was a limited edition thing available only through Toyota/Scion and that he can't get bodies for it. He's tried already.

On a separate note, they do have a couple of AE86 bodies available for the car. He also said any 190mm or 200mm body should fit on it. I may buy a separate body to use for racing, and keep the FR-S undamaged until we see if it does play out that none are available.

I'm still up for a trade if we can find someone with a Red that wants to join in. So far we have:

White Seeking Red
Black Seeking White
Silver Seeking Black

So, I guess we really need a Red Seeking Silver.

Is that right?

Im at 11,112 miles, as of arrival at work today. I have:

-crickets at idle
-tapping noise from the rear of the vehicle
-driver side taillight condensation

Other then that, no real issues.

Good to hear. I have no condensation in the tail lights, maybe cause Texas hasn't seen below 95F temp all summer and I keep mine in garage most of the time. To me chirping at idle or slight transmission shaking at low gear are more "characteristics" of the car than "issues". I only notice them for a second or two.

I plan on driving mine, I may just buy a separate shell for it first. I suppose in your analogy thats like having a hot gf and only sleeping with her fraternal twin sister.

Yea, the chirp doesnt bother me, as long as its not caused by an actual defect but instead just a byproduct of the engine.

Now that I think of it, I havent heard the tapping from the rear deck in about a week.

But the condensation really pissed me off

Got a response from HCI Racing. Unfortunately, not what I wanted to hear...
=========================================
Thank you for contacting HPI Racing and Hot Bodies. Unfortunately at this time we do not offer the FR-S clear body. I recommend checking our latest news page for information on exciting upcoming HPI product.

Support Hours: M-Th 7:30AM-5:00PM, F 7:30AM-4:00P

=====================================

For racing, I may pick up this body they offer. At $32 seems like cheap insurance!

If you're buying stuff, this one should also be considered. Body looks a bit nicer.

A quick search found that Matrixline apparently makes one. I know nothing about R/C car makers so no idea if this is good/bad/indifferent.
