Clanking Noise
Hello,
I get a clanking noise when I reverse after the E-Brake has been let out. I drive an awesomatic transmission. So the process again: Car in park and on Put in reverse E-Brake let out Applying gas and moving backwards CLANK I assume It's one of three things. Transmission, E-Brake not releasing all the way, Differential. I do autocross and HPDE and hoping its not gears poping in place. The car doesn't jutter or anything just the noise. Anyone else have this issue? |

It's just the parking brake assembly resetting.

Check to make sure you didn't close the seat belt outside the door?

I have the same issue. Except mine sounds more like a slush clanking. Also, I only hear the sound the first time I fire it up after having it sit for a long period of time.

100% its the brake assembly resetting, some people say it will only if there is a lot of strain (weight) when parked, my car is always parked on the flat in the garage and does the same thing every morning

Parking brake does this in most cars but generally the sound proofing prevents you from hearing it. We of course gave up sound proofing so we can hear noises that we normally would not.
