if it was the intake that Edelbrock provided, it would be resting and touching the headers, which means melting down.

This modified intake has about 3-4 inches of space betweent he top of the headers and the bottom side of the intake.

Tuner said he wasn't really worried about the temp, as the car would be going at speed, so the wind should be pushing the heat towards the back in anycase The only way heat will go up is if speed slows down like in traffic.

For now, we work with what we get. But in the near future I will consider either doing a custom heat shield, or, doing a massive coat on the header plus wrap.

have you thought of doing a vented hood, perhaps the DIY louvers? I think that would let the hot air escape easily without impacting your IAT's as much as a closed hood would. however, the W2A intercooler would be cooling the hot air coming from the cone filter anyways so I doubt it would matter that much

I haven't dont any temp logs, but wrapping the header seems like less heat comes out of when I pop the hood. Also no more codes thrown from coil pack issues.

Exactly, this one is my 2nd one (first one, I swapped #1 & #3). Will be replacing both. I guess the point I was making was that even with the stock heat shield, you can still fry your coil packs... but back on topic

Hey guys, I've finished installing the e-force system into my BRZ but I'm struggling with the EcuTek part.

When I try to open one of the matching RaceROM (.ERP) file I get an error that says "Unable to Identify Rom Class Array".

The only thing that successfully loads and flashes are the stock BIN files outside of the RaceROM directory.

You should be selecting the Edelbrock supplied rom file, wherever you saved it to.

That's just it. I didn't find anything in the box. The instructions mention a flash drive with the file. The only flash drive I found was the DSE key. I managed to get a hold of someone at edelbrock right around closing time and they stated that no BRZs were being read correctly out of the box and I would have to send them a dump file in order to get a custom configuration.

I picked a .BIN file like it shows in the printed instructions but I'm guessing that's not it. What are all these misc .ERP files that got automatically downloaded? Also it wants to download mazda miata files as well?

Did you send them the info needed? ie dongle ID and registration code? You need to send them your info then they will send you the appropriate file to flash to.

The files that Ecutek wants to download are the "stock" tunes for when you want to flash back to stock. No need to download the mazda files, just need the BRZs.

Doing that now. It's not listed in the instructions. It says to make a note of the dongle ID and registration code, then it moves on.

I think the mechanical instructions were top notch. These Ecutek instructions need to be sent back to the technical writing team.

I am sure they will pop codes again.
