Talking holy shit this car is fun

I just picked up my automatic brz limited a couple days ago and finally got to drive it on some tight twisty roads. I left all the nannies on normal and yet the car still slides and dances through the corners so much faster and livelier than my MKII MR2. I couldn't help but smile and laugh

Just wait until your break-in period is done, and you'll really have some fun. That and throwing it into sport mode transforms the level of fun goodness!

And then when you swap in a 6 speed with a clutch, even more fun!

The older I get the more I crave an automatic. Jealous.

Grats.

Had the car not lost a whole second with the auto gearing, I'd have gone auto too. Can't out shift an auto, never missing a gear is nice and drinking my coffee unhindered would be sweet.

i really like the auto. not a straight line kind of guy at all. need to try vsc sport though.

i also don't like cars that have a lot of torque.. makes throttle control much more difficult on corner exit. so in a way the fa20 is better than the f20 in the s2k because it doesn't have that violent cam switch over.

i remember when I had my turbo car, the rear tires would break loose on corner exit when the turbo kicked in...

I feel ya, brother. I just broke the 1k mile mark and decided to get spirited on the twisties that I grew up on... Like the man said: put the the car in sports mode --you'll really feel alive. The car is just incredible.

It's not the torque that makes throttle control difficult, its that your turbo car sounds like it had an on/off switch for a throttle.

First 3 months = 10% spirited driving.
After 3 month mark = 10% normal driving.
