I need to know how YOUR chosen dyno reads, to get you to YOUR horsepower goal.

What does that local dyno read for a 100% stock FRS, in 5th gear, with a MT?
Around 165, and a bone stock car with an OFT off the shelf e85 tune pulled around 198. It's a dyno jet. A kid from Michigan pulled close to 275 whp with a c30 kit on 93. Can't ask him for his setup, because he's in china now.

Let's pretend I'm a customer of yours, what's your advice?

I'd like a specific power to weight ratio.
On my dynojet, I'm in the 250's on pump gas. But that's my dynojet. If you know that yours reads 165 for a stock car, there's no way you are going to reach your 300 goal on regular gas.

I would tell you to stop pretending to be a customer and actually become one.

If a kit with a C30 on 91 did 295whp, I'd tell you run a C30 with HBP and 100 octane. You'll be over 300 all day. If you have a p/w goal in mind, detune to taste.

What's your setup beyond the standard kit? Do you have a tighter pully, exhaust pieces, injectors, dyno tune, etc?

Now we're a good step towards customer status. Wouldn't a c38 setup on 93 get me where I want to be? I don't need quote 300, just nothing under 270-275.

I have virtually all the support in mods necessary. Just need the kit and a tuner.

Do you road race your setup often Mike? I run around 12 events a summer, real hard for 20-30 minute sessions all day. I enjoy my virtually problem free setup.

A C38 on 93 with a standard pulley will just barely get you where you want to be. Are you looking to just have more power, or actually compete and have the best possible setup?

Yes to making more power, but I am indeed looking for the best setup possible with in safe limits. I am not wheel to wheel competing with this car, but I do some time attack competition with the locals around the Midwest. I'm trying to crush soul's, but everyone is stepping up their power levels.

Looks like I could get this pulley: http://jacksonracing.com/product/fr-...-boost-pulley/. A fuel pump and injectors as recommended, I wonder if this is referring to the DI or standard injectors.

With a HBP you should be running a e85, 700cc+ injectors and a upgraded fuel pump. But if you are going the c38 route, I wouldn't go with a HBP. I'm sure Mike has more input on this topic!

Actually, running the HBP with the C38 is better. C30 with the High Boost Pulley is at the C30's limit. With the C38 it is not, so the unit isn't working as hard to make the same horsepower. If you want to run the High Boost Pulley, I recommend running the C38.

And then you'll also fuel starve on the track and will have to get a surge tank or something.

Regardless of which set up you go with, get a FF kit, injectors and a fuel pump. I personally wouldn't use a HBP on my c38. From what I've read and seen, I'm not sure if the trans will like it, nonetheless the rods.

But yes, the c38 kit can totally handle a HBP

If you have ethanol in your area, by all means, run a flex fuel kit. You'll be looking at well over 350whp (on your dyno) with a C38, HBP, E85, and supporting mods.

Remember, you're doubling your output at that point. Things wont last forever.

stock 2016 BRZ + JRSC C30

MAHA dyno results:
Corrected power: 232.0 HP
Engine power: 235.2 HP
Wheel power: 194.2 HP
Torque: 185.4 lb-ft

Dynapack results:

Wheel power: 234.0 HP
Torque: 192.0 ft/lb

If you look at wheel power on the MAHA dyno, it's a big variance. But if you compare the corrected power # against the dynapack, they come out pretty close (within 2 hp)

We had a NorCal 86 dyno day at the MAHA dyno on 8/6 Day and a number of JRSC with various mods, as well as a few Edelbrock SC cars went on the dyno. Some modded NA cars too if you want to compare against what is possible on NA. See all the numbers and crunch it in your mind until your head explodes:
